OVERBOARD
I said this time around I don’t think I’ll make it
I’m not sure what will take me first
The heartbreak or the hunger
Because my stomach won’t keep and it hurts
If it wasn’t for the friends I have around me
I might be were I wish you were
7 feet with the winter not letting
Any grass grow on the new soil turned
And of course I didn’t mean to say that
But I still haven’t been given my heart back
You threw it over when you thought you sinking
Now I’m on the ocean floor still searching
For a love that you threw overboard
And if I shook out the sand from the ventricles
and I tried to slide it right it back in
Would it even recognise
this man oh the heart
that you bailed out
into the freezing
And of course I don’t mean to say that
But I still haven’t been given my heart back
You threw it over when you thought you sinking
Now I’m on the ocean floor still searching
And if I find it will the damage be too much to measure
Or can I turn it into my most valuable treasure

Now I’m a long way from home
Put some time and space between the things I know
Learnt the lessons that you can only learn from the road
Build a new heart and this time it’s made out of stone
And of course I don’t mean to say that
But I still haven’t been given my heart back
You threw it over when you thought you sinking
Now I’m on the ocean floor still searching
But the thing about a stone cold heart
Is if you let fall it it’ll fall harder
If it’s showed a little warmth that it never knew
Could it be somebody’s valuable treasure
